Lake Raleigh Adventure Series Kickoff: Oct 19

Lake Raleigh Adventure Series Kicks Off October 19th. Sign up here!

This Saturday, October 19th, Greenway Gear Collective, in partnership with The Bike Library and NC State Centennial, will launch the Lake Raleigh Adventure Series: a monthly outdoor event focused on highlighting the amenities of Lake Raleigh on NC State’s Centennial Campus. This series is open to everyone: NC State students, alumni, and the public. No prior experience is necessary.

The event series will be led by Debra and Jeff Rezeli, two of North Carolina’s most accomplished outdoor adventurers who were among the first 100 finishers of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. They even have a mini-documentary on their M2S effort: watch it here. Debra has maintained an incredible 1,685-day-and-counting record of consecutive outdoor activities, persisting since early 2020 through thyroid cancer and surgery. Jeff wrote this article on Debra's endeavor and has documented their journeys in a series of meticulous pen and ink drawings you can find on his Instagram account, @sketchyguync. Together they were ranked the #1 two-person coed team in 2020 by the US Adventure Race Association.

If you come to the container, maybe I'll tell you the story of how I met these incredible folks. Hint: it involves a tiny white dog that didn't belong to any of us.
